  2. August 31, 2009 7:58 pm

I personally have no idea if she’s getting married

We simply don’t know. Thing is, none of the tweets about that have any substance. You would think some apprentice to an ice sculptor would just not be able to hold back. But nooooooooooooooo! Total Omerta!

On another note, good for Hillary! She deserves the time.

Now that’s the spirit, Still4Hill! She *does* deserve the time!

Well, good for Hillary she sure needed the rest but believe me you all know she is not resting. She maybe be in New York or Washington and is fully engaged. I think she is enjoying visiting with Chelsea and being with Bill.

I’m glad she’s getting a break. After all the travelling she’s done in the last six months just being home with family and friends for a while must be luxury. Thanx for still managing to keep the posts going stacyx. Here in the UK we don’t get news of Hillary even when there is news of Hillary so I love your site.

Pondskipper- you don’t get coverage of her in the UK? My sense has always been that particularly when she’s traveling, you guys have pretty good coverage and you generally seem to have much more news about the US in your media than we do about YOU guys (or other nations other than Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel and Iran). And I’m glad you enjoy the site here.

Just to remind everyone Hillary is to receive the 2009 Four Freedoms Award from the Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt Institute on September 11. I assume there will be a speech.

Terry- thanks for that! I *had* forgotten- I wrote about it at the time it was announced way back when but it totally slipped my mind.

Yes I just got that in my e-mail and sent it to you Stacy but PYW beat me to it. I can not wait to see her. I bet she has been in Washington since Saturday night.

pcfs- thank you very much for your email! Honestly, I appreciate when people send me stuff because while I try to comb the internet, obviously I don’t catch it all – it’s one of the reasons I added the google news alert, ‘Secretary Clinton in the News’ widget in the sidebar although sometimes it’s not *totally* up to date.

So I did post the article about her meeting with Zelaya in my news-round-up post!

Stacyx- No coverage here in England is not good although all things are relative I guess. Maybe I got over-sensitised to this during the Democratic primaries when Obama was the only story that mattered and Hillary’s coverage consisted of her mistakes (snipers, RFK murder comment), racism (South(N?) Carolina/white blue collar votes) or when she inconveniently won something. The BBC, having spent most of the preceding twelve months awash with Obama supporters and the odd Republican to ‘even’ things up seems embarrassed to now find her as SOS and still tends to give her more negetive coverage than anything else. During Hillary’s Africa visit the only mention she got on the main BBC news shows was the student incident with no mention at all of her Goma visit or any other things she did. *sigh*
I got really tired of complaining in the blogs and comment sections about the ‘bitch meme’ they constantly play. Still on the plus side I think it is just lazy journalism rather than anything more sinister. Repeating the well know republican talking points about Hillary (devisive, arrogant, paranoid and totally dependant on her husband for any sucess yada, yada, yada) is sadly easier than having to research a new story .
