Secretary Clinton to Deliver Remarks at Events on Thurs. Sept. 24th & Friday Sept. 25th
Just a heads up about about events on her schedule for the next two days:
***************
“Secretary Clinton To Deliver Remarks at Female Heads of State and Foreign Ministers Luncheon Hosted by U.S.
In a run up to her official Security Council intervention next Wednesday, September 30 to combat sexual violence in armed conflict, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will deliver remarks at a luncheon hosted by the United States for female Chiefs of State, Heads of Government, and Foreign Ministers.
The luncheon will take place on Thursday, September 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan, New York. Secretary Clinton will be joined at the luncheon by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, and U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, Melanne Verveer.
Secretary Clinton will also deliver opening remarks at an event co-sponsored by the U.S., the Netherlands, and Brazil on combating violence against girls on Friday, September 25, at 8:00 a.m. at the United Nations Headquarters. The media logistics of this event will be determined by the United Nations.“

Surely she’ll wow them all! Thanks.
It will be great if any of this is broadcast or stream live.
Her remarks at the CGI with Pres. Clinton on Friday will be on webcast.
Thank for the heads up!
Stacy, I know you must have seen the stuff about the WH and State Dept blocking the Gaza report? I know you wrote about the report the other day and judging from what you said, I have a feeling you’re not overly thrilled. I think this decision may come back to bite us in the ass not to far down the road- just my opinion
Steve- you judged correctly. And I agree, blocking the report, which alleged crimes on the part of BOTH Israel and Hamas, will just undermine peace efforts- combine that with rumors that we are going to back-peddle on the settlements issue and we’ve played right into the hands of some right-wing Muslim nations who say the US can’t be at all objective when it comes to mediating mid-east peace.
Sounds like Obama wants her to take the lead next week in intense negotiations in Washington. Perhaps the report was creating a deadlock. How is this going to effect her proposed trip to Israel in October? I would like to see a couple of major foreign policy breakthroughs in the next month. We need some good news with all that is going on in Afghanistan. I’ve watched a couple of the webcasts of the CGI. They are wonderful. If Hillary doesn’t choose to run after this administration there is definitely a place for her to shine there.
Its a shame. Hillary set the tone no more settlements and now president obama is getting quesy.
Terry,
I agree with your statement, She will shine working for CGI. What a great place for her expertise and knowlege on all fronts concerning world affairs. Especially womens rights.
