Secretary Clinton’s Wednesday Schedule. Maybe? Perhaps? *updated*
Prior to the storm she was scheduled to appear before Congress but given the weather and the two-day shut down of the government, I am not sure if this is still the plan. If it changes or if the fed is closed again today I’ll update the schedule:
9:30 a.m. Secretary Clinton appears before the House Appropriations Committee for State, Foreign Operations and Related Agencies, on Capitol Hill.
2:30 p.m. Secretary Clinton appears before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on Capitol Hill.
We’re expecting a snow storm here in Boston. Unfortunately, where I work, we have a very high threshold for closing work completely which means I could be spending hours trying to get home tonight. So if you don’t see any posts this afternoon or early evening, I am in the car trying to not lose my mind on Route 93.
UPDATE: Nope, no public appointments today, the federal government is shut down again.

Yeah, it’s taking us awhile to dig out. This is DC we’re talking about, though. Nothing ever gets done quickly around here. To defend my city, I did hear that a lot of plows are out of commission for some reason, not to mention we’re getting pummeled by this new storm that is also hitting you. I have tired of the snow already even though I just moved to DC from Georgia and was looking forward to experiencing a “real” snowfall. I’ll be happy when the snow finally clears, my schedule can go back to normal, and there will new pictures of our Secretary of State.
I look out my window and all I can see is white; the snow is coming down hard and we’ve got some nasty wind to accompany it and blow it around. Stay safe getting to and from work. I don’t think I’m going to leave the apartment today, and hopefully our Secretary of State is also safe at home, diligently working on whatever State Department issue that she can.
Well stay safe. I do realize that you guys got slammed in DC and it’s best if people stay in although I am a bit surprised that the storm has brought the federal govt to a screeching halt- it kinda looks bad to outsiders.
I am used to snow having grown up in PA where we would always get a decent amount and I’ve lived in Boston since I moved up here to go to law school about 10 or so years ago. I never used to mind the snow- I rather enjoyed it- of course I am also someone whose dream vacation is to go on an icebreaker research vessel to Antarctica- but I agree, this snow is getting old. As do many of us who are city dwellers, I have to park on the street (my home didn’t even come with a driveway!) and people in Boston actually get violent over parking spaces when it snows. So I tend to worry more about parking than driving in the snow.
I am a bit bummed we didn’t get a snow day here at work but I can’t say I’m surprised. Maybe we’ll close early. The state has declared a snow emergency and all government, non-essential personnel have been told not to go in to work today and most schools are closed.
Hey Stace, we need our Secretary of State fix! I know you knocked yourself out over the weekend doing photo bombs and polls (I hope you do some sort of pantsuit poll again!) but we need some Hillary!
