I like your blog template- very clean looking. You clearly spend a lot of time keeping it up. You also have some good links although they do tend to lean to the left ;)

Hey Stace, hope you had a good week. Do you think there is a new round-up our poll in our future this weekend? Hint, hint.

Yes, hope you had a good week. Thanks for the updates. Secretary Clinton certainly had a busy week, but then again every week is a busy week for her. I am looking forward to hearing about the events on international woman’s day.

Sorry I haven’t been doing as many updates this week- I have been crazy-busy at work and to be honest, I’m having a bit of dilemma with respect to how to move forward with this blog.

I love SOS Clinton but more and more, I don’t like this administration’s foreign policy. I feel like we’ve come full circle and have reverted back to doing much of the things the Bush administration was doing. And I have a big problem with that. When you look at the recent reaction to Obama from countries around the world they are united in one thing- monumental disappointment with him. He raised expectations for change so high and delivered on so little, particularly in the Muslim world and Latin America. In fact, there really isn’t much “change” at all. We’re still running around saber-rattling and paving the way for more military action in the Middle East, we’re still using military tribunals despite the military itself saying they don’t work, Gitmo is still open, many of Bush’s questionably-legal terrorism policies are still in place, the Obama admin. has ensured that Bush admin. officials who created the torture policies will get little more than a slap on the wrist- if that- and we still are dependent on dictatorial, human-rights-abusing regimes like Saudi Arabia and China because we’re too stubborn to decrease our dependence on them despite it jeopardizing our long-term national security. Of course, I’m a liberal so naturally I am going to be disappointed with what I see as a huge lurch to the right by a democratic administration. How ironic that people on the right call Obama a socialist- I guess it just depends on ones perspective. I do tend to be a bit more fiscally-conservative on some issues. But I’ll be honest, I’m not very good at economics, because it involves numbers and math and I have spent most of my life avoiding both those things ;) .

This isn’t a criticism of Hillary Clinton. It’s a criticism of President Obama and the system in Washington which makes challenging the status quo virtually impossible- and just wait until the effects of the disastrous Supreme Court decision allowing corporate funds (including FOREIGN corporations) to freely take over our political system- it will be even worse. I have no idea how many of Obama’s policies Secy Clinton does or doesn’t agree with and quite honestly, I’ve never found a politician with whom I agreed 100% so it’s not like I expect that- during the 2008 I respectfully disagreed with some of Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy views but I still believed in her more than in Obama.

Or who knows, maybe I just need more coffee and a bit more sleep? I’m open to suggestions.

Stacy, go have more coffee and get some sleep! You better not even be considering shutting down this blog! You don’t have to agree with Obama’s foreign policy, just say where you don’t agree. The entire world’s disappointment (with some exception) with Obama’s inability to get a backbone isn’t your problem, it’s his. Also, we need more liberals like you who are willing to speak out about some of the hypocrisy of the democrats b/c they are part of the problem- when the administration tried to speak out against the coup in Honduras, who pushed back? The GOP and blue dogs and Obama cried uncle. And anyway, this is a blog devoted to Hillary, not Obama. I know that she’s part of his administration and is often the messenger of his policies, but again, you don’t have to always agree. I think you’ll find that a lot of people are more than a tad disappointed with how this administration has handled things. During the campaign Hillary Clinton said Obama was naive when it came to foreign policy and guess what? He’s naive. He made a bunch of promises he couldn’t keep, he raised expectations for himself and now he’s fallen on his face and made things worse – it’s always bad to raise expectations so high because then when you fall, you fall hard. And he’s fallen hard and his campaign supporters are learning this the hard way.

So, no more talk about not knowing how to move forward with this blog- just keep moving forward and doing what you’ve been doing every day. :)

Stacy, I haven’t been coming to this blog very long but I agree with what Steve said and I certainly hope you keep up the amazing work you are doing on behalf of Secretary Clinton. You are clearly very knowledgeable about foreign policy and perhaps that’s all the more reason you are finding yourself more frustrated but Steve is right, you don’t always have to agree with the administration.

    So, chin up girl! :)

Stacy, I ditto what they said.

I’ve been reading this blog from the beginning and I know you disagree with how Obama is dealing with Mideast policy and I have a feeling based on your stated views about this, although I could be wrong, that you are disappointed that Hillary seems to be the one taking the very hawkish stand on Iran, Israel, etc. and I understand why that would trouble you given your views. I can’t tell you how many conservative blogs have been claiming that we need to attack Iran and they are stating that if Hillary were POTUS that’s what we would be doing. And then some liberal blogs are criticizing her saying that she is trying to whip up fears about Iran just like Bush did before the invasion of Iraq so that the American people will support harsh sanctions and even a eventual military attack. But the fact is, they simply don’t KNOW that. People are still trying to create the appearance of a wedge between Hillary and Obama and I think this is yet another example of that. So my suggestion is don’t fall for it. Nobody knows what’s going to happen anyway. For better or worse we just have to wait and see.
