Ummmm, unfortunately Eric Cantor lied in his statement. If you actually read (or watch/listen) to what Obama said, you’d notice that Cantor has twisted Obama’s words. That statement issued by Cantor probably is hot off the AIPAC presses.
I think what the GOP is doing is disgusting. Between the birthers, the tea partiers and these statements from people like Cantor insinuating that Obama hates Jews and favors Muslims it all equals one thing- fear mongering to try to paint Obama as some sort of Muslim terrorist sympathizer. It’s pathetic that you guys have nothing to offer this country other than fear, scapegoating, endless whining, threats of violence and at times, flagrant racism. The idea that some so-called pro-Israel people think its honorable or acceptable to denounce anti-Semitism while at the same time sticking their head in the sand and displaying virulent anti-Arab sentiment is shameful.
Steve, don’t bother with AB, he’s just trying to get us going. I have yet to read anything he has written that demonstrates even a rudimentary understanding of, or interest in, foreign policy. His only purpose is to try to troll and disrupt any discussion. Unfortunately, he visits under multiple IPs and names so there’s not much to do other than simply ignore him.

Stacy- you are right the problem is the view being expressed by AB is sadly quite prevalent among the wingnuts. Did you hear that BS about the symbol at the nuclear summit being selected by the Obama admin. as a secret symbol meant to look like the Islamic crescent? What a bunch of asses! The symbol used to decorate stuff at the summit is an ATOM! Seriously, these people are totally wacked. But apparently its acceptable in the US to spout ridiculous anti-Muslim nonsense because well, it has to do with Muslims.
Jon Stewart did a funny spot on his show last night about the whole wingnut claim about the symbol/crescent controversy- its worth checking out.
