Maybe spending the day with her hubby for his Birthday. But one never knows she could be on a flight to another foreign country. I feel she is in Washington with Bill. Lets hope she enjoys the day off.

Bummer.
There is so much good she can do in the world- human rights, public policy, be president of the U.S.. Heading up the U.S. war machine? Again, bummer.
Of course she’d be good at it, but I’m with Thain and Stacy. There is so much unethical crap that goes on with our defense department, even when we are NOT fighting wars. I’d hate to see her become the public face of that.
That said, the media seems to love speculating on which job she’ll take next and they don’t seem to have a whole lot of evidence to support any of this. Everything quotes that little neocon gossip monger from the CFR Leslie Gelb. He’s the guy that keeps saying she’s a good secretary of state, but “she’s no Henry Kissinger, blah, blah.” He’s kind of a pain in the ass actually.
Well-said, Steve. Agree with you about Gelb. He’s uber-annoying. Who cares if she’s the next Kissinger or not? What’s wrong with her blazing her own path?

Asked what would be discussed, an aide said it would be a “tour d’horizon” (tour of the horizon). Hmm, horizon as in, what does the future hold? I don’t love these off-the-record meetings with the press.
Yeah, I don’t like that either. Of course, if it were a private, off-the-record lunch with BLOGGERS, I’d be ok with that. My lips would be SEALED!
That HRC as Secy of Defense gossip/speculation is now all over the internet. Grrrrr….
