Ambassador Holbrooke in Critical Condition

Yesterday Ambassador Richard Holbrooke collapsed during a meeting on the 7th floor of the State Dept. and was taken to the hospital. It didn’t sound good but out of respect for his family the State Dept. was mum about specifics. Today I received this:
Update on Ambassador Richard Holbrooke
Ambassador Richard Holbrooke was admitted to George Washington University Hospital yesterday. This morning, doctors completed surgery to repair a tear in his aorta. He is in critical condition and has been joined by his family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Holbrooke family. Hopefully he will make a speedy and full recovery.

It was reported that Secretary Clinton went to the hospital this morning and visited with the family. Our prayers are with the Ambassador for a speedy recovery.
