December 18, 2010
STATEMENT BY SECRETARY CLINTON
Repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell
This is a historic step forward for all Americans, a step toward a more perfect union and a more perfect reflection of our core values. As the President and I have repeatedly said, we are committed to universal standards abroad and here at home. Our progress on equality here strengthens our advocacy for human dignity everywhere.

FINALLY, the Repubs (enough of them) caught on to the fact that the majority of Americans actually SUPPORTED the repeal of DADT.
Two other off-point tidbits:
WTF is Richardson doing in North Korea, besides stabbing Hillary in the bacK — again?
SNL actually included Hillary in their opening skit last night — it revolved around various political figures daydreaming about headlines they’d like to see for Xmas. Hillary’s (same old, same old) was: “Obama to Clinton: Let’s switch
jobs.” But at least she wasn’t skewered in quite the devastating way Biden, Pelosi, and Obama were.
Long overdue. I’m glad Clinton came out and made a statement about it.
Woo hoo! ’bout time!
Hi guys. I will be doing a photo bomb in a bit if you want to stop by later. I’m running behind today- been sick all weekend and can’t get my a** moving!
anyone know if Hillary is headed to Israel?
I hadn’t heard that. I don’t think she would go back to Israel right now due to the impasse. I think for her to go there there would need to be a breakthrough. Quite honestly, she’s got a lot of stuff on her plate and I know George Mitchell was in the region last week. No one [outside the State Dept.] is really sure what the administration’s plan is. I did read in Haaretz Friday or Saturday that Mitchell did not have a good meeting with Bibi or Abbas- both seem to be digging in their heels.
