Thanks for the heads up about the China speech tomorrow. Isn’t that Communist party leader Hu Jintao coming for a state visit soon?
When’s Fidel Castro coming for a state visit?
She’s talking a lot about peaceful civil society and the importance of Arab states not viewing it as a threat. Does the same go for this:
That video is pretty telling. Amnesty has named him a prisoner of conscience at the State Dept. clearly wants to pretend the man known as the Palestinian Gandhi doesn’t exist. Obama specifically called on Palestinians to renounce violence in his Cairo speech and rightly so. But then when they do and get tossed in jail for speaking out against the occupation- peacefully- we have a moral obligation to raise the issue.
On another note: Jennifer Rubin takes a whack at Hillary. AGAIN.

Secy Clinton lashed out at Arab leaders over their repression of civil society and I agree with her. What I don’t agree with is her total silence over the repression of Palestinians- their imprisonment, abuse, harrasment and even murder. I wish she would be a tad more even-handed.

The idea that we can’t change Israel’s behavior is sort of a joke. They are our client state. We are just unwilling to do what it would take to get them to stop violating international law.
Some are saying that the Israeli right is trying to provoke a 3rd intifada so they squash the Palestinians in Gaza like bugs. I happen to agree with that assessment.

I don’t expect any of the Israel apologists here to respond to this. It’s easier to just ignore stuff like this and go read the NYT and listen to Wolf Blitzer.
