The Sunday Afternoon Secretary of State Photo Bomb: The New England Patriots Will Beat the NY Jets Edition
January 16, 2011
So, what does a football game have to do with Secretary Clinton…NOTHING!
Scooter has already called the game for the Patriots, even though the kickoff isn’t until 4:30p.m. but what Scooter wants, Scooter gets.
I found some photos of Secretary Clinton’s Persian Gulf trip that I hadn’t posted before, so some of those are in here as well.

Fantastic photos! I haven’t seen many of them.
Scooter is adorable as always.
I haven’t seen a lot of these photos either. I love the first photo and also the all the ones where she is wearing the yellow jacket- wasn’t that during the first year as SOS when she was in Turkey? She rocks.
Scooter rocks too!
Wonderful, wonderful photos! You have been a very busy woman today Stacy! First that fantastic news round-up now this!
I love the first photo too!
thank you stacyx, I haven’t seen most of these pics, either. As designer Diane Von F said :Hillary is the most amazing woman in the world! I agree 100% with her!
Ok, so Scooter’s not very good at calling football games. I guess she’ll have to just go back to her day job of napping and playing with twist ties.
I enjoy looking at the pictures. Hillary has a very expressive face. And it is clear that people everywhere in the world admire her, as well she merits.
And I appreciate your news roundups, which I do read in their entirety.
Thank you Pilgrim!
A lesser woman would gloat. I’m just gonna thank you for another great photo bomb.
I will make a Superbowl prediction:
Packers 34
Jets 21
Great photos. Another photo bomb well done.
Amazing win by the Jets and they really showed that they weren’t just talk.
The game was pathetic- the Pats were terrible. That’s the only reason the Jets won but hey, a wins a win.
NY loves to trash talk- no class, never will have any. Win or not they still are jerks who talk better than they play.
Dan Shaunessey said it best:
“Not true. Belichick is the one who panicked and tried a fake punt on fourth down from his own 38 near the end of the first half. The play backfired and the Jets wound up with a 14-3 lead instead of a 7-3 advantage at intermission.
In the fourth quarter, with the Jets leading by 10, Belichick is the one who stayed on the ground and let his team chew up almost eight minutes of clock without scoring a point. The poor clock management wound up killing the Patriots.”
And Shaunessey didn’t mention Belichick’s decision to bench Welker. I thought that showed real class, but it was a bad football decision.
Yeah, as I said the Pats sucked big time. The fake punt was mind-blowing. Half the time I was watching the game I didn’t know what the $@#& they were doing. I thought I was going to vomit in the last 4 minutes.
Sorry, but there is nothing “class” about the Jets franchise. They talked trash all week and tried to bait the Pats into doing the same – it’s good they won because if not, once again they’d look like fools. There’s something to be said for acting like adults and not just overpaid frat boys.
But you and I don’t agree on anything so why should a football game be any different? If I said the sky was blue you’d say it was red
Benching Welker was the RIGHT THING TO DO. Belichick knew there would be consequences and he was willing to accept that. Again, there’s something to be said for sportsmanship and acting like an adult.
You two crack me up!
Did I say the Jets showed class? The only one who showed class was Belichick — for benching Welker. Ryan is gross and all that trash-talking was embarassing (at least to this New Yorker). But I’m a Giants fan jumping on the Jets bandwagon a little reluctantly.
I hope that Brady congratulated Sanchez after the game- that would be the right thing to do. While the Pats played terrible football Sanchez did a great job. By and large I disagree with the Jets’ characterization of Brady as an asshole- all things considered he’s no diva and he certainly doesn’t pull the type of nonsense Brett Farve pulls- Belichick would never tolerate that stuff. When Brady made a good play those months ago and they beat the Jets he turned to the Jets side of the field and gestured in a celebratory way- I really don’t think that makes him a jerk, particularly when compared with some of the trash talking the Jets partake in. That said, Brady would do well to be a tad more gracious in defeat this time around- unless of course he has been and I just missed it. I haven’t seen all the post-game coverage but the Jets QB deserves major props.
Great photo bomb. Thank you so much Stacy.
