Foreign Policy Bush Administration-Style
This is the mess this administration inherited.
If you’ve watched tv at all over the last two weeks you’ve probably seen the world’s most incompetent former Defense Secretary, Don Rumsfeld, running around peddling his new memoir “Known and Unknown” which apparently consists of hundreds of pages of no regrets, zero accountability and lots of blame for everyone else. To hear Rumsfeld tell it, every major defense decision was made by someone else- at least when things went poorly, which they often did.
This is a memo written by Rumsfeld to his undersecretary, Douglas Feith, which appeared on Rummy’s website and which has made the rounds on quite a few blogs:
In case you aren’t aware, Doug Feith, who the memo is addressed to, is a neocon who never met a war he didn’t like and who was described by CENTCOM Commander Tommy Franks as “… the fucking stupidest guy on the face of the earth…” He also seems to have played a role in the AIPAC/Larry Franklin espionage scandal (see also here).

That is too funny. I can’t believe he’s not embarrassed by that. Then again, it’s Don Rumsfeld.
No one sees a problem with Rummy’s lax foreign policy direction? He just hands it off to Feith like a laundry list- no wonder our foreign policy is so out of synch.
