Some info. on the service
Both Clintons and former Vice President Walter Mondale are among the mourners at a New York City funeral Mass for Geraldine Ferraro.
Mondale chose Ferraro as his Democratic running mate when he ran for president in 1984. She was the first woman to run for that post on a major-party ticket.
Dignitaries at Thursday’s funeral in Manhattan included former President Bill Clinton; Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton; former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright; and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi.
Also attending were Gov. Andrew Cuomo; his father, former Gov. Mario Cuomo; and Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Thanks for the info. It’s too bad Ferraro died so soon but she fought hard and lived with cancer for 12 years which is longer than anyone initially expected.
BTW Stacy, I’ve seen your tribute to Geraldine Ferraro that you wrote last weekend linked-to on quite a few different sites and on Twitter- it was an excellent, heartfelt tribute and clearly a lot of other people thought so as well.
I am glad that Hillary and Bill were able to attend considering their busy schedules. Gerry was a great friend and supporter. May she rest in peace.
Not good. Don’t know if it’s true or not. It says the US got Arab support for military action in Libya by agreeing to turn a blind eye to Saudi troops crushing the democracy protests in Bahrain:

This isn’t the first I’ve heard of this story.
If it’s true than it basically means that the US didn’t go into Libya solely for humanitarian reasons because if that were the case, why would we let Bahrain and Saudi Arabia stomp their protesters?
Sorry, but the Obama admin. is starting to look like a bunch of hypocrites with a schizo foreign policy.
It’s that fucking Fifth Fleet in Bahrain- we’d let Bahrain do anything because of our military relationship with them. We’ll let Saudi Arabia treat it’s people as bad if not worse than Iran does because they are our gas station and Israel doesn’t mind SA as much.
