Here’s a nice story about Tommy McFly, a radio host in DC who worked on Senator Clinton’s campaign in 2008- he ran into her at a restaurant in DC not long ago and said she couldn’t have been more friendly and down to earth:
It was an average day, having lunch with a friend at Bourbon Steak in the Four Seasons Georgetown. We were halfway thru the lobster corndogs and black truffle rolls when a bunch of serious looking dudes in suits appeared. They were clearling scoping out the place and getting ready for something. . .or someone. I went back to enjoying my would-chose-it-for-my-last-meal-on-planet-earth filet when
First LadySenator Secretary of State Hillary Clinton showed up for lunch with who I later found out was the King of Jordan. Secretary Clinton and I were leaving around the same time and when the moment was right, we asked for a photo. I told her I had volunteered on her campaign and the rest went like this…
HRC – Thank you so much! That’s great. (Said with Hillary Smile) What are you doing now?
TM – Well, I host the evening show for MIX107.3!
HRC – Alllright! (Puts hand in the air…)
YEP I “HIGH FIVED” THE SECRETARY OF STATE!
I actually left her hangin for a second on said high five because it took me a minute to compute that that was what was about to happen. Hillary Clinton could NOT have been nicer or more personable.
