I love the photo of her with the yellow baseball or softball. That’s from her current trip?

    Thanks for the photo bomb.

Both your cats have neat markings, very pretty.

    Have a fun/safe day everyone!

@Tovah- yup, that’s from earlier today I believe.

As for the cats- Notch is a type of Calico which is referred to as tortoise shell, not sure why- that’s what the vet said at least. The vet also said Calico’s (which are always female) are known to have an attitude and I would have to say “attitude” is definitely a word that could be ascribed to Notch. Scooter is funny looking- she has really, really short legs, a small tennis-ball shaped head and she clearly has some tiger cat in her but the stripes become circles on her back. She keeps trying to get her sister Notch to play with her. It ain’t happening.😉

Stacy- thought you’d like this- Sarah Palin’s Facebook foreign policy (for dummies).

I can’t believe this woman is taken seriously. What kind of leader refuses to give interviews unless it’s on a wingnut channel like Fox and who announced her policy positions on Facebook? She’s completely afraid of being asked a hard question so she sticks to places where she can just spew her bullshit without being accountable.

She lists the usual neocon nonsense- war is great, cut spending except in defense, stop being mean to Israel. It’s all a fucking joke. Sorry, but it is. I have no respect for people who think this woman is anything other than political carny show entertainment. How can you be a serious candidate when you don’t know anything? She mocked Hillary for complaining about her treatment from the media but all Palin has done is bitch and moan about how she’s a victim of the lamestream media. She’s a victim of her own stupidity

Hey Marcus, thanks for the link.

I think Palin’s prominent role in political discourse kind of shows just how bad the political landscape has become in this country. Facts don’t matter- just rhetoric and bumper-sticker soundbites.

The fact that Palin uses Facebook and Twitter, in addition to speeches and Fox News, is clearly because she’s afraid of being asked questions where she doesn’t already have a scripted answer. She should spend less time on Facebook and more time actually reading a real book and trying to learn things rather than relying on her neocon foreign policy advisers to spoon feed her her latest screeds via social networking. Personally, I think she’s a total embarrasssment.

I read the book “The Battle for America 2008” by Dan Balz and Haynes Johnson a while back and it was a good election book- I thought it was pretty fair- the authors weren’t catty, they seemed to provide sources for almost everything and they didn’t over-rely on anonymous statements. But one thing that came across was that Palin was just off the wall- worse than anyone realized. According to pretty much everyone, her behavior on the campaign trail was a cross between an opera diva and a troubled 13 year old. It’s pretty amazing to think that this woman almost became VP. I’ll be honest, reading it, I almost felt sorry for her because she REALLY comes across as a person who perhaps needs some help, if you know what I mean.

For anyone who likes politics I’d recommend that book. It certainly didn’t contain all the speculative garbage that “Game Change” did, which I also read because I wanted to know if it really was as bad as it sounded- and it was. They just tossed journalistic ethics out the window to write a gossipy book to grab headlines.

Fabulous photo bomb! And your cats are very photogenic!

Thank you, glad you like it!

The cats should be given I’ve taken about 5,000 photos of them. Yeah, I’m one of *those.*

I swear I hear them groan when they see me coming at them with the phone/camera.
      🙂

Love the bomb btw. I didn’t think we’d get lucky this Sunday, it being a holiday and all. Your commitment to the Secretary is pretty amazing.

You say Notch is Calico- is she long-haired? I haven’t seen too many long-haired Calicos.

    • July 4, 2010 7:55 pm

@Steve- thanks. I like doing da bomb! I have been running inside every little while to get a break from the heat- we have people over doing the BBQ thing.

Notch is short-haired by its not super-short. Just long enough to get every possible place in the house.

I can’t let Scooter alone on the porch for one minute- not long after I took that photo of her above in the post she almost plunged three stories to her death- she saw a bird and went over the railing but she caught herself on the other side with her very long claws. I almost had a heart attack. Honestly, don’t cats have depth perception?

How many photos of Hillary do you have Stacy? Do you store all of these on your computer?

@HF- yes, I have copies of them on my computer. I have thousands of photos. You know, not that I’m obsessed or anything. I mean, not in a *bad* way.

    I’m wheels down in Israel.

In honor of this auspicious occasion, here’s a lovely story about how undemocratic my adopted country has become:

    http://maxblumenthal.com/2010/07/the-battle-of-nabi-saleh-soldiers-vs-kids/

Detaining and torturing children, all justified in the name of the 6 million who died in the Holocaust.

I saw that Steve. It’s why Israel will never win the global PR war.

Have fun in Israel. Try not to get arrested😉
