Vacation. No, Not Her. Me.

August 18, 2010

FYI- Just so you don’t think I just up and abandoned the blog- I am leaving on vacation tomorrow and will be gone a week- I won’t have internet access that I know of so that means this blog is also going on vacation.

Sadly, these two ragamuffins below can’t be trusted to cover the Secretary’s comings and goings while I am gone.

This is where I am going:

I know, most people head south, I head north. Far north.

Take care and I’ll see ‘ya when I get back!

OMG, where is that gorgeous place?!
Seriously stacy, have a wonderful, uplifting, restful, restorative vacation — so you can return full of your signature spitfire for the fireworks the fall will no doubt bring. I’ll miss visiting your blog daily but thankfully will be away during that same period. 😉

Enjoy your vacation! The first picture of your destination reminds me strongly of a place in the Cascades outside Seattle that I used to go to, when I lived up there in the early 1990’s (even before Hillary became First Lady!).

The first photo is Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Alberta Canada and the second photo is the Athabasca Glacier in the Columbia Icefields. I have a thing for glaciers and mountains so I’ll be happy as a clam.

Hi, Stacey! Hope you’re enjoying your vacation. I just want to share this nice article by David Rothkopf (he used to work in the Clinton White House):

“As everyone leaves their jobs, Hillary should stay put”

She looked very Presidential, announcing that Mideast peace talks would be resuming — while Obama is catching rays on Martha’s Vineyard. I’m surprised she was allowed to claim the limelighr for once.

  9. August 21, 2010 11:11 pm

I’m so glad Mideast peace talks are set to begin- she deserves the credit for all the behind the scenes work to get these two parties to sit down face to face- no easy feat given both parties clearly are trying to pre-position themselves with the US. Obama doesn’t seem to really be as engaged with this and maybe that’s a good thing.

Hi, everyone! Just sharing this article — “In nuclear negotiations, more women at the table for U.S.” — and just to state for the record that Hillary herself appointed the two senior women at State that directly handled START, including the chief negotiator Rose Gottemoeller and undersecretary Ellen Tausher, the former Congresswoman from California who has been a long-time Hillary friend and supporter.

    Wow Stacy. Beautiful!

I don’t want this to be a downer, but why hasn’t Hillary come out and made an announcement whether it be official or personal in regards to the reports out of the Congo? I’m really surprised by this.

    • August 25, 2010 6:57 pm

@RE- hi everyone, just checking in- secy Clinton issued a statements on the mass rape in the Congo within the last hour- I can’t post it b/c I am using my phone to write this- I don’t have normal Internet access where I can post stuff yet. Check out in a few hours- it should be posted by then

I will be home Friday and will resume blogging then.

      Take care!

Woo hop, Stacey is back tomorrow! I never took this site for granted but it’s been rough not being able to get my Hillary news AND general foreign policy commentary in one place- the other sites just don’t compare.

Is it just a coincidence you and our SOS are on vacation the same week? 😉

I guess it’s good for us that your
