Oh, cool, thanks, I’ll add that to the post.

Although I must say I am not a fan of Secy Gates. Do you know that after two years of telling Congress to slow down the repeal of DADT, he had the NERVE to announce yesterday that they should suddenly hurry up and repeal it- you know, now that he knows it will never happen because the GOP controls the House. Methinks this was his strategy all along.

Yes, I saw that. If I may say this about Gates on your blog — what a snake! I bet he anticipated a Republican turnover and just played the clock out; Gates is no political newbie. Of course, Obama was more than happy to hide behind his underling’s coat tails and later blame the failure of repeal to Gates. These two men deserve each other.

Agreed, at the end of the day, Obama’s in charge. Remember Gates wanted to wait until he got the opinion of every single member of the Armed Services and their families, so he could find out about how THEY feel about having openly glb soldiers with them. My father, who is a veteran, said “oh yeah, because the military is suddenly a democracy?” Heh. It was another stalling tactic. Now Gates and Obama are going to shrug their shoulders and go “oh well, what can we do, the GOP is blocking us?!?”

Here’s what they can do- stop appealing every court ruling striking down DADT as unconstitutional!

Honestly, 25 other countries have gays serving openly and do you think they behaved this way? No. Did the sky fall? No. Did everyone’s testosterone level drop dramatically, making them unable to fight? No. Did the straight soldiers all become gay after bunking with gay soldiers? No.
