SOS Hillary Clinton’s Tuesday Public Schedule?

December 21, 2010

Update: I have no idea why the State Dept. has not made her schedule for this week available but I am sure they have their reasons. Perhaps she has no public appointments? I know she has been working behind the scenes to help get the new START treaty ratified this week. Also, Secretary Clinton will be traveling to Brazil on January 1st for the inauguration of Brazil’s first female President, Dilma Rousseff.

If I get any information about what Secretary Clinton is up to this week I will let you know. They are having daily press briefings, so I will comb through that later today to see if there is anything to pass along.

I hadn’t heard about these signs. They may not be allowed to go up, but still the times are changing, despite the best efforts of AIPAC, the MSM, and our natl political leadership …

Yes, the boycott movement is gaining ground too. I believe in free speech but those signs are unlikely to really educate people that don’t have a good background in this issue. They might due better with something a little less controversial, although who knows, controversy does get attention, just ask PETA.

When I read the book ‘The Israel Lobby’ one thing that became very clear was that the people who think Israel can do NO wrong are more vocal than those of us who want to see policy changes- they write letters to the media, threaten boycotts of media, write op-eds and letters to the editor, send letters to Congress and a producer at a major media company said that they (the media) shy away from being too critical of Israel for fear of a backlash, which always comes. That should put to rest the absurd claim that the US media isn’t biased. This individual said that if a story is viewed as overly critical he gets thousands of emails condemning the story and the media company.

My point is, we should all try to counter this by doing the same thing- when we see unbiased reporting we should write the paper/website/editor/reporter and thank them. We should write our members of Congress when they do stupid things like passing that anti-Palestinian resolution the other day. It’s the only way things are going to change.

      Thank you Thain.

On another note, I am stunned at Netanyahu’s unbelievable arrogance:

Actually no I am not. He would only do this if he knew that the US Congress would back him up.

Apparently Israel thinks that the US should pay them off in order for them to do ANYTHING. Like mideast peace is some big f*cking favor they are doing for us. That they would request Pollard’s release after their refusal to halt settlements after all that was offered, is just mind-blowing. All Israel does is take, take, take and we give, give, give and it’s never enough, ever.

Interesting this isn’t getting a whole lot of coverage in the US media, kind of like the NEW AIPAC spy scandal isn’t getting much media attention (Rosen essentially claiming spying is business as usual for AIPAC). It’s sort of like the media doesn’t want average Americans to know what a thankless ally Israel really is. Although the Israel-Firsters will claim otherwise, Pollard did tremendous damage- some info. he gave to Israel was apparently passed on to the Soviet Union.

Honestly, at what point are we entitled to say “enough already?” I guess so long as Congress, the POTUS and the Jewish community continue to enable this nonsense, we’re stuck with being treated like a doormat by our client state.
