Wow, that’s quite a schedule, I don’t know how she does it!

By the way I always check out this website first thing in the morning and I love how you get the schedule up bright and early- thank you!

She looks very serious in that bottom photo. That’s from yesterday, correct?

The Saudi King is in NY recovering from surgery. That later meeting with Prime Minister Hariri should be interesting!

Hey Stacy, read your comment on Rubin’s Middle East post- you hit the nail on the head. I like how you suggested she educate herself 😉

OT- This is interesting- right wing Israelis and Europeans more tolerant of fascist french politicians because the fascist parties have dropped their anti-Semitic rhetoric in favor of anti-Muslim rhetoric.

This is dangerous- LePen and the National Front party are totally xenophobic and were it not for the fact that they found someone they hated more than Jews, they would still be using their anti-Semitic rhetoric.

We’re also seeing this in the US- pro-Israel groups (like the ADL’s Abe Foxman) embracing far-right politicians and pundits simply because those people/groups are so rabidly Islamaphobic. Also the union between the unquestioning pro-Israel faction and the far right Christian Zionists, who support everything Israel says and does only because Israel will be the site of the Rapture (and all non-believers aka Jews, Muslims, etc.) will disappear from the earth.

People need to remember that if you lie down with dogs you get fleas.

A good article on how the NYT spins the events in Gaza so as to make Israel’s actions seem less morally repugnant.

Again, I think we are so accustomed to pro-Israel media bias that we don’t even question articles by Bronner or Kershner. Their sources are often Israeli officials/IDF and usually the views of actual Palestinians are seem as unnecessary, perhaps because the NYT knows that it’s safer to play to it’s audience- ie. people who want things told from the Israeli perspective that they themselves hold dear, truth be damned.
