As if the US hasn’t lost all credibility in the Middle East, now this:

We are the same as the Israelis- hyping threats of Islamic extremism in order to prop up torturing, corrupt dictatorships. I’d love to hear O’Bambi answer to this. I will say- I know I’ve been critical of Hillary in the Mideast but at least she doesn’t hide from the press like he does.

Unbelievable. Our foreign policy is for sale:

More recently, while Obama’s admin was cutting pro-democracy funds to Egypt and Jordan, they proposed for Libya pro-democracy funds, at least partially funneled through Gaddafi family foundations. A mentally unstable murderer has been running a country for 40 yrs without a constitution, and you want to give his family pro-democracy funds? I don’t want to re-hash the past. But this is not good :

That story dates back to mid-2009 when the US and Libya were actively trying to normalize relations after decades of our treating Libya like a global terrorist organization. Our $2.5 million in aid came just 8 months after after Libya contributed $1.5 billion to a newly created Humanitarian Settlement Fund intended to resolve outstanding lawsuits by American victims of Libyan terrorism. And we were getting more than financial retribution for victims of terrorism. U.S. intelligence officials have been conducting information-sharing sessions with their Libyan
counterparts ever since 9/11, when Qaddafi publically extended offers of help to Bush; in January 2009, the US signed an agreement to provide information exchanges on defense and security issues, as well as talks on the sale of military equipment; and of course, there are the Libyan oil and gas reserves…
I remember when Condi Rice visited Libya in 2008 — the first SOS to visit
in over five decades — she quoted a former British prime minister that, “nations have no permanent friends or allies, they only have permanent interests.” Cynical but true.

Oh, and on another note I just saw this:

Obama continues to pander to the anti-peace, Likud Lobby. Pathetic. The only good news is Shapiro will now be out of the WH. The article says he’ll serve the US well- give me a break, Shapiro aspires to serve only one country- Israel.

I’ve noticed that all the important middle east posts, including the Arab states, go to I-Lobby shills who are usually Jewish. But I’m sure that’s just a coincidence, right?

You can’t work on Middle East peace and campaign for reelection at the same time so I guess we’ve chosen politics over peace. What a surprise Mr. Change You Can Believe In
