March 11, 2011

TV screen grab

Just released:

I join President Obama in offering our sincere condolences for the loss of life and damage caused by the earthquake and tsunamis in Japan. We are closely monitoring the tsunamis that may impact other parts the world, including Hawaii and the West Coast of the United States.

The U.S. Government has offered immediate disaster relief assistance, and we are working closely with the Government of Japan to provide additional help. Our consular officers in Japan and in the United States are working to gather information and assist U.S. citizens in Japan who may have been affected by the earthquake.

The United States is an unwavering friend and ally of Japan, and we are committed to helping Japan respond and recover. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan during this difficult time.

This is a tragedy and my thoughts and prayers are with those experiencing this ongoing natural disaster.

CNN has a real time video feed of the events in Japan (and Hawaii and California) here.

I would hope that next time you make a press release about delivering “coolant” to a nuclear plant, you will do a little research. You can not deliver coolant to a plant. The plant is designed to have all the coolant it needs. IT may need power to start the pumps up to deliver the coolant, but you can not bring additional coolant to the plant. Will the military be carrying in 5 gallon jugs of water????? There is no where to inject the coolant into the plant systems. Your quote is going all over the technical websites as a major joke. And the news keeps carrying this message which is even scarier, and makes you wonder how much information transmitted is correct.
This is just like TMI when the helicopters flew over the cooling towers and stated the top of the reactor had blown off and was spewing raditioactive steam into the environment. Gets all the people up in arms for nothing. The nuclear plants are designed for these type of accidents and we do not need all the media and politicians ramping the people up.

Tell us the American people how we can help Japan and her people now??? What can we do? What is needed? Do people wish to be evacuated from Japan?

Secretary of State Clinton, when Sept. 11th terror attack hit New York, soon thereafter the Japanese Government sent to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden 3,000 chrysanthemums. Unfortnately there was a Longshoreman’s strike on the West Coast at the time and these died. Japan sent to us another 3,000 they were received by the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and were planted there. We must help our friends immediately…….please tell the American people what is needed and how to help. Thank you.
