I like Weiner’s dometic policies but he’s a neocon on foreign policy. Hopefully as Mayor of NY he won’t be involved in FoPo though ;). He will have the I-Lobby behind him since he says things like “their are no Israeli troops in the West Bank” and other nonsense. Who knows though, he could be a good Mayor. At least he takes on the GOP propaganda machine.

Regarding Weiner- no surprise there. He’s had his eye on that prize for quite a while.

Interesting commentary from Taylor Marsh on Libya:

Obama has not done a good job of communicating with Congress or the American people about what the end game is in Libya, how we plan to accomplish it and whose going to be paying most of the bills.

The Arab countries in the Arab League need to start flying some of those fighter jets and missiles we’ve been selling them over the years- they are obsessed with having the latest and best military equipment so now why don’t they use it rather than sitting on the fence and wringing their hands? As usual it’s the US who is taking the lead, which is all well and good, but as federal programs benefitting the poor and the middle class are being slashed in Washington, now would be a good time to ask when this so-called “coalition” is going to step up and begin pulling its weight.

OT: I think Kucinich raising the issue of impeachment was stupid but it’s interesting that if you are one of the very, very few liberals in Congress you are labeled fringe while the far right GOP members are just “standing on principle.” That’s the theme the so-called liberal media helps perpetuate.

All the talk of the “Far left” democrats in congress is a joke. There really aren’t that many real progressives in Congress anymore. There are a few, but the GOP and the media make it sound like the left is as represented in Congress and the WH as the Right is. Obama has hardly been liberal despite all the claims of socialism. Health reform gave the private health insurance industry 30 million more new clients. His foreign policy is actually quite hawkish and conservative and he’s retained many of Bush’s most questionable policies.

I don’t know what I’m going to do in 2012
