The Queen’s State Dinner

May 25, 2011

You can see the toasts the Queen and the President made and in the video you can see Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sitting next to Prince Charles, looking stunning as usual:

If I find some photos I’ll post them.

I love Secretary Clinton’s outfit- very classy. I was looking for photos of her at the State Dinner and because of where Charles is situated and she’s sitting next to him, she isn’t appearing in a lot of the photos. If she was sitting where Camilla was she’d be in all the photos. I”m sure some photos will pop up soon.

Thanks so much for the video stacy.

Just to be clear, I mean the media should cough up the photos. I know Stacy will do a great job of tracking them down if/when they’re available.

I think some will be available hopefully today. Daylife gets their images from Getty and sometimes there is a lag. I honestly don’t know how many photographers are allowed in there during the dinner- I would think some official photographers and then maybe a few from media outlets.

HillaryFan is right though- the seating arrangement with Hillary on the other side of Charles rather than where Camilla was sitting, puts her too far to the right in these photos of the Queen and Obama.

If I find some I’ll definitely post them.

Hillary looks like a Disney princess, simply stunning. I hope that there are some full length pics of her in her lovely gown somewhere out there.

I love, love, LOVE her chignon! So becoming! She should wear it that way more often.
Did I say, I LOVED it?!

That aside, listening to the Queen, I thought: Now that’s how a TRUE ally talks. What a contrast with a certain other foreign dignitary we’ve seen too much of lately.

That’s exactly what I thought when I heard Obama speak at Parliament and the Queen speak at the dinner- a TRUE ally, where the two countries respect each other and it’s a give and take as opposed to a certain country whose leader was just here where the relationship is based on the U.S. constantly giving, giving giving and that particular country doing nothing but taking- and not even grateful either.

Obama didn’t go there to triangulate or play politics, he wasn’t divisive and he didn’t try to undermine UK’s policies as opposed to you know, how our ally Bibi treats the US when he comes here.
