12:30 p.m. Secretary Clinton attends a Small Group National Security Council Meeting, at the White House.
1:30 p.m. Secretary Clinton attends a Principals Meeting, at the White House.
3:45 pm Secretary Clinton meets with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and National Security Advisor General Jim Jones, at the White House.
5:15 p.m. Secretary Clinton attends a National Security Council Principals Committee Meeting, at the White House.

Big pow wow at the White House today. Did anyone see the McChrystal’s interview on 60 Minutes where he said he has spoken to the president only one time since taking command in Afghanistan? I don’t know what to make of that.
Terry I’m not sure there is too much to make of it other than the fact in my opinion generals shouldn’t be giving interviews. There is a reason we have a chain of command. Bush had IMO a very nasty habit of allowing the generals to go out and sell policy, a little too shades of MacArthur for me.
Hi guys. I saw that interview and I agree, Terry, I felt like he was saying that for a reason- almost as though he’s making his own case for what he needs and perhaps saying Obama isn’t as aware as he should be of facts on the ground? Hard to tell. I also agree Brian, Generals, Admirals etc. shouldn’t be selling wars and it is strange to do interviews, particularly at a time like this- I can’t help but wonder if Obama’s people had to ok the interview first and if not, I wonder if they were miffed about the interview?
