You gotta love this. Sarah Palin in Israel. This should be good. I’m sure Bibi will take advantage of the opportunity to knock the Obama admin. and gain further support from the GOP Likudniks in the US:

If Obama would stop pandering to the Israel Lobby/Bibi for just 5 minutes he might realize that Bibi is doing everything he can to triangulate the democrats and Obama and is hoping for a big GOP win in 2012 in both Congress and the WH. Obama should just tell Bibi to go f*ck himself but of course, then we’d have to listen to the Lobby whine, complain and threaten while listening to the deafening silence from the Jewish community- that or they’d join in blasting Obama.

@Thain – I agree. It’s getting ridiculous. Bibi is being disrespectful to the US and given we essentially have to carry then they could show just a little gratitude but instead they just ask for more money .

Welcome back Stacy! Thanks for posting this video- I think Carolyn mentioned it the other day but I hadn’t seen the video I just read about it.

Her prepared remarks are OK, but it’s the unscripted Q&A where she just blows you away. The juxtaposition of this press conference in Paris on matters of international historic significance with Obama’s statement from Brazil kind of said it all about who should be picking up the phone at 3am.

OT: On Chris Mathhews’ show this morning [don’t ask — I was visiting my father and had no part in the programming choice], he ended by asking the panel who was the most important person to Obama in his current administration. Several people said Gates (which made no sense to me), several said Hillary, but Chris himself said, and I quote, “Bill Clinton — via Hillary.” Sigh, Chris, Chris, Chris. You can’t decide if you love her or hate her, can you?

Great to see you back, Stacy! – No shortage of news stories. While Coalition is bombing Libya, Yemen situation is explosive. Saleh killed scores of unarmed young protesters just in the last few days. He may either be forced out soon or take his brutality to another level (with Saudi support).

And WaPo is reporting that Der Spiegel has photos of US soldiers posing alongside murdered unarmed Afghan civilians. Der Spiegel is planning to print the photos in their print edition …

I don’t know why but I have a apprehensive feeling about the no fly zone. I think the Arab League may cut and run.

If Der Spiegel is really publishing photos of US soldiers (private contractors?) posing for photos next to murdered Afghan civilians it’s still going to be hard to win hearts and minds in the region. That whole CIA/Raymond Davis/blood money thing in Pakistan probably did more to hurt our cause there than anything we’ve done to date. I’m sorry but that whole thing stank to high heaven. Then you have the US settlement veto at the UN which caused anti-US demonstrations in the Occupied Territories and Tunisia – in other words, that’s great if we help the Libyan people overcome gadaffi but unless we get our act together on other issues on the region, this may not be enough to improve our relations with the Arab world.
